Dr. Courtney Bumgarner, DC, CACCP

Dr. Courtney Bumgarner was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She moved out to Washington State after her junior year of college to take a year to decide what she wanted to do next. While living there, she worked at a ski resort and as a white water rafting guide. During this time, she was introduced to a retired chiropractor who sparked her interest in chiropractic as a career. She had experienced chiropractic as a child to help optimize her competitive spirit in gymnastics, cheerleading, and track but had not considered becoming one herself up to that point. She fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a doctor when she graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport IA, earning her Doctorate of Chiropractic, and Bachelor of Science degrees.
Dr. Courtney is Certified by the Academy Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP). This certification process through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) gives extensive, practical approaches to help children, pregnant moms, and families live optimally throughout their lifetime. She is also certified in the Webster technique to help balance the pregnant pelvis. Through her studies she realized the growing need for brain based approaches to developmental needs of the people in her communities. This lead her to become certified through the FOCUS Academy that advocates chiropractic care for people of all ages with behavioral, developmental, learning, or socialization challenges. This approach focuses on understanding that there are no bad behaviors, just windows into a brain with too much stress. If we are able to remove interference in the nervous system this will allow the body to restore proper function, adapt to stressors, and maintain optimal health. Dr. Courtney has completed her Nutritional Counseling Certification through the State of Wisconsin so she can provide dietary advice as well as supplementation recommendations to help bring her patients toward better health.
Dr. Courtney recently relocated to Slinger with her son to take this amazing opportunity to help this wonderful community enjoy chiropractic care, a healthier life, and better function.
